Life is like a journey
Taken on a train
With a pair of travelers
At each window pane.
I may sit beside you
All the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere
Never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me
To sit by your side,
Let’s be pleasant travelers;
It’s so short a ride.

What a very remarkable short poem. Life is indeed considered as a journey, short yet very meaningful. It is up to us how will we handle things or ever the situations that we encounter in our life. Life is considered short as well so as much as possible, let us make our journey an unforgettable one. Let us make that we will not have any regrets at the end of this journey by living a life that we enjoyed. I came across this poem while researching an old pile of letters from my grandmother’s things our family had been searching through. The letter contained an answer to my ancestor’s request in the 1930’s for some poems the author had written. The name says Dr. I. B. Howell of Ardmore Oklahoma. Just in case this may provide some answers for someone someday.
