New Beginnings
It’s only the beginning now
. . . a pathway yet unknown
At times the sound of other steps
. . . sometimes we walk alone.
The best beginnings of our lives
May sometimes end in sorrow
But even on our darkest days
The Sun will shine tomorrow.
So we must do our very best
Whatever life may bring
And look beyond the Winter chill
To smell the breath of Spring.
Into each life will always come
A time to start anew
A new beginning for each heart
As fresh as morning dew.
Although the cares of life are great
And hands are bowed so low
The storms of life will leave behind
The wonder of a rainbow.
The years will never take away
Our chance to start anew
It’s only the beginning now
So dreams can still come true.

A New Chance
When doubts and fears are growing,
It’s hard to keep on going
From day to day not knowing
Just what the end will be.
Take each day as you find it,
If things go wrong, don’t mind it,
For each day leaves behind it
A chance to start anew.

“A fresh start isn’t a new place, it’s a new mindset.” -Author Unknown
“Then Peter came and said to him, ‘Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I ought to still forgive him? As many as seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.’” -Author Unknown: as quoted in “The Bible,” ‘Gospel of Matthew,’ chapter 18, verse 22
By way of further explanation, Peter desired to go beyond what the religious leaders of the time and place did, for they would only forgive a person as many as three times. Peter thought he could do more, so he asked Jesus if he ought to forgive his brother, “as many as seven times.” Jesus replied, “seventy times seven,” meaning we are to forgive our brothers and sisters in Christ as often as they need to be forgiven. Second chances are not something we seek for ourselves alone, but which we also are to give lovingly to others.

“Every single moment of a person’s life, both of the understanding and of the will, is a new beginning.” -Emanuel Swedenborg
Should life include more do-overs and second chances, for good people?

“The first step of your journey might be scary, but it is also full of so much possibility and wonder. It is full of excitement at all that could happen and faith that whatever is meant to happen, will happen. It might be hard to take that first step - to put your pen to paper, to move to the new city, to lace up your shoes - but don’t let that fear keep you from starting. Don’t let the fear keep you from feeling the excitement and wonder at everything in front of you, because I promise that once you take that first step, you’ll never look back.” -Nikki Banas at https://nikkibanas.com/
What is a ‘second chance’? Is it a miracle? Is it an example of love? Is it someone taking a risk?
